A typical Spanish kitchen and snack knife from PALLARÈS in Solsona, with a round boxwood handle that sits comfortably in the hand.
Its carbon steel blade stays sharp for a long time, is easy to re-sharpen and must be washed by hand because it is not stainless. And it turns a beautiful blue and grey, as if it were cold in our climes. When it develops a patina, it is not harmful to health at all.
This is Spanish handicraft, which is best cleaned after use.
Then it remains a pleasure to use it to cut herbs, vegetables, steaks and bacon, as well as to impatiently open long-awaited parcels.
The broad blade in the shape of a sage leaf fits wonderfully into old walls, country house kitchens and garden houses. But it's much too pretty to disappear in a drawer. Better to keep it handy on a magnetic strip. ‘Sage foot’, so to speak. It's strange how well my dog can hear in the kitchen. Todos a comer! Dinner is ready. There he is. But when I call ‘Come here’ outside, no one comes, let alone the dog. How do I like that? Well, that's Spanish.
