“Brut de Forge” refers to a traditional blacksmithing technique where the dark forge scale is reapplied to the blade after grinding – an homage to ancient craftsmanship. While the process increases production time and cost, it also gives the knife its unmistakable character and raw elegance.
The satin-finished ebony handle perfectly complements the darkened blade. Only the core wood of this precious hardwood – mostly sourced from Africa – is used. Fine brown lines may appear naturally in the grain.
Seven inlaid pins form the shepherd’s cross, a symbol that has led many to call these Laguiole knives the “smallest chapel in the world.”
The bee and spring (ressort) are forged from a single piece of metal. All decorative guilloches are engraved by hand using traditional goldsmithing tools. The double liner (double platine) gives the artisan extra space to showcase their mastery – true LUXURY in the best sense of the word.
