About the Model 44C
This set includes the razor, leather case, and a single blade. The MERKUR Model 44C features a long, thick handle with a tapered end — perfect for those blessed with large hands. It’s a three-piece design, with the handle, base plate, and head screwed together. This razor works with all standard double-edge blades — also known as three-hole or Gillette-style blades.

Cleaning is simple: unscrew the razor, rinse under running water to remove shaving cream, then reassemble. Afterwards, the razor slips neatly into its leather case, ready for the next shave.

Fun fact: The founder of MERKUR was actually named Hermes. But since there were already a few Hermes in the neighbourhood, he decided to rebrand — swapping the Greek messenger god for his Roman counterpart.
