The name WÜSTHOF first appears as a factory in the annals of the Duchy of Berg in 1814. In that year, Abraham Wüsthof founded the ‘Factory of Fine Steelware’, today's Dreizack factory. The company has been in family hands ever since. Today, Harald and Viola Wüsthof are the seventh generation to run ED.WÜSTHOF DREIZACKWERK KG.
‘In the ups and downs of world history, the Dreizackwerk has always held its own,’ wrote Hugo Eduard Wüsthof, born in 1894, in a review of the years 1912 to 1932.
