The “ancient German” blade shape of an EICHENLAUB knife is the most original, oldest design.  It has proven its quality for 120 years. In contrast to the “Old German” shape, it is wider in stature. However, the other dimensions of both shapes match all other cutlery items that have been produced under the crown M since 1910.
Two EICHENLAUB branches, to which the initial of Merten August is added, reveal their maker.
It goes without saying that such craftsmanship requires appropriate care, which calls for manual work. No dishwasher should see the inside of this cutlery.

Brass rivets have been delicately driven through wood and steel. Otherwise, the precious wood could be damaged. And this can change color over time. Wood is a product of nature, so grease and light can still cause nuances of change.
