Wild Damascus? It also exists in a vertical structure, not only horizontal.
Over a period of up to two days, more than 300 layers of elastic, soft steel and, at the same time, extremely hard steel are hand-forged into a blade of the highest quality. After a further 50 working steps, this Damascus steel knife is complete – but not stainless. To put it far too plainly: perfected.
A double bolster guarantees a perfectly balanced feel for delicate cutting in the hand. You can recognize the compressed steel in the transition from blade to handle, known for its appearance as the “boot bolster”. At the end of the handle, a counterweight shaped like a pommel provides balance.
What material could possibly be worthy of such a blade?
GÜDE’s choice is desert ironwood, up to 1,500 years old.
What happened around 500 AD? In India, the game of chess was invented; in China, two monks smuggled silkworm eggs out of the country. Silk conquered the world. Damascus came later.
Questions? Damascus or Debreciner? Both!
