The alum haemostatic pencil from OSMA in France effectively closes small scratches and cuts that can occur when shaving. Or when handing over a prickly rose to a hopefully less prickly loved one.
Thanks to the absence of preservatives, colourants and perfumes, it is also ideal for sensitive skin. It can be used as a skin tightener before shaving or afterwards, simply moisten and gently rub over irritated or damaged skin areas. It is antiseptic and has an astringent effect.
I always keep one handy in my cutlery box so that I can cut myself when cooking. Hold the crystal on it, endure a little burning and the blood flow is stopped. Then hold the pen under the water and slide it back into the tube to be prepared for the next carelessness.
Its small size makes it a useful companion when travelling. So there are no more excuses for forgetting the roses on the day of honour.
