Since the 14th century, the so-called “Kotten” grinding workshops shaped the history of the blade city Solingen. Massive grinding stones powered by pure water force were used to sharpen world-famous blades entirely by hand. The BÖKER Cottage Craft kitchen knife series continues this heritage with a carefully selected combination of traditional materials. Particularly noteworthy is the use of non-stainless C75 carbon steel, which quickly develops its characteristic blue-grey patina after use. The handle scales made from domestic plum wood are hard, dense and fine-grained, featuring a uniform structure and rich natural color variations. Following centuries-old Solingen craftsmanship, the handle is mounted with solid brass rivets on a full tang construction. The chef’s knife is one of the most essential tools in any kitchen and part of the basic equipment. With its slightly wider and longer blade compared to a utility knife, it offers excellent versatility. The slim tip is perfect for cutting onions and small vegetables, while the blade length allows efficient work with meat, fish and larger produce.
