Since the 14th century, the so-called “Kotten” grinding workshops have shaped the history of the blade city Solingen. Powered by pure water force, massive grinding stones were used to sharpen world-famous blades entirely by hand. The BÖKER Cottage Craft kitchen knife series continues this heritage with a carefully selected combination of traditional materials. Particularly notable is the use of non-stainless C75 carbon steel, which quickly develops its characteristic blue-grey patina. The handle scales made from domestic plum wood are hard, dense and fine-grained, offering a uniform structure and a striking natural color variation. In line with centuries-old Solingen craftsmanship, the handle is mounted with solid brass rivets on a full tang construction. The paring knife, also known as a utility knife, is a highly practical combination of chef’s knife and peeling knife. Its primary use is processing fruit and vegetables, allowing both peeling and cutting with precision. It is equally suitable for smaller pieces of fish and meat. As a frequently used, double-ground knife, it is an essential tool in any kitchen.
