There is documentary evidence that since the middle of the 15th century locksmiths at the foot of the Alps used water power. This made it possible to produce weapons, tools for agriculture and, of course, knives. Today, Maniago, with about 11,500 inhabitants, is still considered the Italian center for cutting tools.
DUE CIGNI from the city with its own knife museum presents with the series TUSCANY a greeting from Tuscany.
Light heavily grained olive wood is used for the handle scales, which is provided with a finger guard towards the blade and a pommel towards the hilt end. The blades with a continuous tang are cut. The cutting edge in a spine pointed shape is smooth. To separate meat, it must be sharpened so that its fibers are cut, but not torn. However, such sharpness is also advantageous when eating sausage, vegetables and fruits.
The original inhabitants of Tuscany were the Etruscans.
