EICHENLAUB cutlery with black acrylic handle scales and aluminum rivets combines classic Solingen forging craftsmanship with a modern, easy-care appearance. The high-gloss polished acrylic feels comfortable in the hand, is highly durable and insensitive to moisture and temperature changes.
The handle scales are permanently riveted to the forged cutlery parts, creating a stable and long-lasting connection. The subtle aluminum rivets emphasize the clean, elegant character of this version and fit perfectly with both modern and classic table settings.
Like all EICHENLAUB cutlery, this version is forged from rust-resistant chrome-vanadium steel in a single piece and further processed in traditional manufactory quality. A successful combination of timeless design, high everyday usability and genuine Solingen manufacturing craftsmanship.

Backen forged cutlery, made of stainless steel forged from a single piece and manufactured in over 120 different manual working steps. All knife blades are produced in the highest and most complex stage of the Solingen pliesst technique, the so-called “blue pliesst”. The steel is ground finer step by step in several passes using emery leathers with a grain size of 180 to 320. This work requires so much experience that it is mastered in only a few Solingen workshops. You can recognize a blue-polished blade by its scratch-free shine and a faint blue shimmer appearing in the grooves when light hits at a certain angle. The knives of the Backen forged cutlery are made of 1.4116 chrome-molybdenum-vanadium steel, genuine forgeable material, in a stainless finish. The individual parts are produced from a single piece in a renowned Solingen forge.
As early as the end of the 19th century, picnic cutlery appeared in Solingen with handle scales framed by steel at the top and bottom, the so-called “Backenbesteck”. An original that has since been copied worldwide. For a long time available only as knife and fork, the cutlery was expanded by the company August Merten from 1910 to its present variety including dessert, fish, fruit and serving pieces. Many manual working steps are then required until the delicate shapes of the metal are formed and the handle scales precisely fitted. LINK: https://www.scharferladen.de/EICHENLAUB
