The PIKAS Mark

HERDER – good knives. Genuine German craftsmanship from Solingen.
A note from the kitchen’s past
In the old kitchen hierarchy, food preparation began in what was called the “office” – not an office as we know it, but the working area where ingredients were cleaned, trimmed, chopped, sliced, and prepared for the chefs of higher rank (whose hats, by the way, grew taller the higher they stood in the hierarchy).
The “office knife” or utility knife was the trusted companion of those meticulous preparatory hands.
