This is a traditional hunting nicker as produced by HARTKOPF in Solingen for more than a century. The classic purpose of a nicker is the humane dispatch of game by a precise thrust at the first cervical vertebra, known as the atlas or “nicker”, from which the knife takes its name.
The blade is made from polished X50CrMoV15 stainless steel (1.4116), hardened for reliable edge retention and corrosion resistance. With a blade thickness of 4.3 mm and a solid guard, the knife offers excellent stability and secure handling in demanding hunting situations.
The full tang construction runs through the entire handle and provides exceptional strength. Genuine stag horn handle scales are mounted with multiple rivets, combining traditional hunting aesthetics with a comfortable and secure grip, even in wet conditions.
The set includes a brown leather slip sheath with metal fittings, allowing safe and convenient carry in the field or on the belt. This makes the Model NICKER not only a functional hunting tool, but also a classic piece of Solingen knife tradition.
