OPINEL presents the well-known Kids Knife No. 7 with a glass-fiber reinforced polyamide handle and integrated whistle. A defining feature of a proper children’s knife is the rounded blade shape, designed to reduce the risk of injury. The JUNIOR spreads butter thinly and smoothly — and if something does go wrong, help can be called with a whistle. At 110 dB, it reaches up to 300 meters. The whistle works in all weather conditions and contains no internal ball.
Beyond that, this outdoor knife is built to withstand shocks, water and extreme temperatures from -40°C to +80°C. Made for real outdoor use, not just backyard theory.
A stainless steel blade made from 12C27 Sandvik steel and the Virobloc safety ring are, of course, standard — even on a children’s pocket knife.
What does that mean in practice, some parents may ask, especially those who did not grow up with a proper cutting tool in hand?
The blade can be securely locked in place using the Virobloc safety ring, preventing accidental folding. So no need to worry about pinched fingers.
Is the knife useless once childhood turns into teenage years? Not at all. Parents do not need to plan another major purchase. The rounded blade can be reground into a pointed shape when maturity allows.
The knife grows with its owner — provided the brain keeps up. Rounded or not, it remains a real knife, not a toy.
