The drop point shape of this SLIPJOINT pocket knife can be traced back to the 17th century. A spring in the back of the knife holds the open blade in position. A BACKEN made of nickel silver in a shortened version adorns the handle made of Micarta. In the BARLOW PRIME JUTE model, the composite fibre is made of jute. It is bonded with resins, which results in a stable material, resistant to liquids. The PLATINES are made of brass. The acid wash finish of the carbon steel of the blade, combined with a long drawn ricasso, is successful. Such a metal finish is more forgiving of possible impurities as well as scratches. Nevertheless, the steel does not remain stainless, ergo you should keep it clean and dry after use. Unless corrosion is desired. The pocket knife is handmade in the BÖKER MANUFAKTUR in Solingen.
