From the series TRADITION of FORGE DE LAGUIOLE a pocket knife with oak from the wine barrel. It is a French knife, so we can assume, as with Italian wines, Euröpäischem barrique with a capacity of 225 liters. Empty, the container weighs about 45 kilograms and may be used for three years at the most. Incidentally, it is not only used for aging red wines; Chardonnay is also pre-fermented in it in some places.
A shepherd's cross is inserted by means of pins. Who wants, may kneel down. Who does not, experiences also no heavenly rebuke for it. In addition, a LAGUIOLE typical bee or "Mouche" is called, just as forged as also the "Ressort", thus the spring.
Such a spring holds the knife both in the hilt, which prevents accidental opening in the pocket, and in the open state. Once an invention of blacksmith Pierre-Jean Calmels in the 19th century, the knife is still made the same way today.
Do not forget, close the knife slowly and silently, then you get the mechanism: Ressort silencieux vivra vieux.
Quiet spring will live a long time.
Like French gastronomy, which since 2010 is part of the intangible world heritage, Laguiole knife represents a way of life.
To buy there are the fine folding knives in some places. However, from the first hour of manufacture, in 1987 in the sharp store. Which belongs to knives RÖDTER. Which has been on the market since 1909. So where should you buy?
Oaks you shall give way. It thunders, it flashes.
But a heavenly rebuke? On your knees.
