To lock the blade, the ring must be turned. Because this is as simple as it is functional, the system has a proper name: Virobloc. Developed by Marcel OPINEL in 1955.
The knife is opened with the nail hammer. The thumbnail pulls the blade out of the handle by means of a groove. Not for nail biters. Then you have a really sharp, cutting tool which is an indispensable help on many occasions. Its shape is a classic that feels comfortable in both female and male hands. In 1897 OPINEL still had 13 different pocket knife models. Nowadays the series starts with number 2, number 11 was given up and ends at 12. Number 13 was a special model of the 70s. With a total length of 50 cm, a blade length of 22 cm, every trouser pocket is happy. The model is still available.
INOX in the blade means that the steel used is stainless. Veritable inoxidable, really not rusty. No, this is not promised. Such a high chrome content would make the blade much too hard. As a result it would also break much too quickly. Take it now, because according to Cite's regulations OPINEL will not use Bubinga wood any further.
