The village of Saint-Amans-des-Côts, 700 meters high, with its houses and its church, an austere mixture of basalt rock, granite and white stone, with slate roofs, is located in the Viadène on the edge of the Aubrac plateau.
In the south of the Massif Central, life is not always easy for the 750 inhabitants.
The winters are always hard. Sundays, the only days of rest, are synonymous with feast days.
The family gathers around a large table for a good meal. The laughter of children and adults accompanies the crackling of the fireplace. These happy moments in this family cocoon should never end.
It was during these convivial moments of warming each other's hearts that the idea of creating a knife based on the model of his village was born. For Benoît, it was very important to design a knife characterized by simplicity and elegance.
The Saint-Amans-des-Côts (here man only says "Saint-Amans"), is meant to symbolize the sharing of these joyful and tender moments with family and friends. You can feel all this harmony in the purity of its line, which extends the hand. It is a true table companion with impeccable sharpness.

For 20 years, Benoît Salesses has been a knifemaker and designer. He trained at the Compagnons du Devoir and worked as a cabinetmaker.
The Journeymen of Duty - The "Compagnons du devoir" are a French organization of craftsmen and artists that dates back to the Middle Ages. Their traditional training and purpose includes apprenticeships in many locations throughout France, meeting the master craftsmen of each region.
