The glycerine contained in our Marseille soaps is not added glycerine, as opposed to so-called ‘glycerine soaps’. It is glycerine that is naturally present in vegetable oil. After the 10-day cooking process and numerous rinses, only a tiny amount of glycerine remains. However, the ingredient ‘glycerine’ is still listed in the ingredients of our soaps because traces of it remain. The new cosmetics regulations require that every ingredient, even if it is only present in trace amounts, must be indicated in the list of ingredients.
