To lock the blade of this folding pocket knife, simply turn the ring at the handle. Because the mechanism is as simple as it is functional, it even has a name: Virobloc. Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel. The knife is opened via the nail nick — no hitting involved, your thumbnail pulls the blade out using the groove. Not ideal for nail-biters. Once opened, you have a truly sharp, edge-holding cutting tool that becomes an indispensable helper in many everyday situations. Its classic shape feels comfortable in both smaller and larger hands.
