Short description: OSMA HEMO STOP styptic pencil with alum crystals (12 g) for fast blood stopping after shaving cuts and small injuries. Fragrance free, dye free, preservative free. Antiseptic and astringent. Ideal for sensitive skin, wet shaving, travel and household use. Item No. OS-0459-1998.
The OSMA HEMO STOP is a classic alum styptic pencil for stopping bleeding after shaving. Pure alum crystals provide an astringent and antiseptic effect, stopping small bleedings within seconds. Perfect for straight razors, safety razors and shavettes, as well as a compact helper for minor everyday cuts.
The alum blood stopper from OSMA in France effectively closes small scratches and cuts that can occur during shaving. Or when handing over a thorny rose to a hopefully far less thorny beloved.
Thanks to the absence of preservatives, dyes and fragrance, it is also ideal for sensitive skin. Can be used before shaving as a mild skin toner or afterwards: simply moisten and gently glide over irritated or injured skin areas. It is antiseptic and astringent in its effect.
Application: Slightly moisten the tip of the pencil, gently apply to the bleeding area and let it work briefly. Afterwards rinse the crystal under water and let it dry before sliding it back into the tube. This keeps the styptic pencil hygienic and ready for long-term use.
I keep one in my cutlery drawer at all times in case I cut into my own flesh while cooking. Hold the crystal on the wound, endure a short sting, and the bleeding stops. Then rinse the pencil under water and put it back into the tube — ready for the next moment of carelessness.
Its compact size makes it a useful companion when travelling. So there are no more excuses for forgetting roses on special occasions.
Good to know: The styptic pencil is intended for small, superficial cuts, especially after shaving. For deeper wounds, please seek medical assistance.
