The bread saw KB2 has a hand-polished double-sided serrated edge. In relation to the handle, the cutting edge is positioned at a slight angle. As a result, the blade goes straight through to the bottom edge of even the crunchiest loaf, with the left hand just as much as with the right. In technical terms, it is said that the knife remains in the cutting line.

The Solingen thin grind, known for its particular sharpness, can be seen here in perfection. In its most elaborate form, it is referred to as a “walk grind”.

Is it actually blued? Of course, you can tell by the blue shimmer of the steel in the light. In the past, the process of bluing was reserved for the master grinders, and so these blades are honored today with the title “masterpieces of today”.

The wood of the walnut is taken from pieces of root or from the trunk near the root, and this comes from regions in Baden and France. It must be hard and grippy, with an elegant grain. This material is always a treasure in your kitchen.

And because HERDER believes that knives used at the table should look particularly neat, we are moving away from corroding carbon steel to rust-free chrome molybdenum vanadium with an addition of about 14% chrome. So there you have a magnificent bread knife that is equally suitable for cutting bread, pastries and large fruits such as melons and pineapples. What about meatballs? Oh yes, they are also excellent for splitting in two. When you have to share.
