Without the use of a shoehorn, the inner lining is often prematurely destroyed and the back cap of low shoes ruined by excessive stretching, if not buckling. Aside from these side effects, putting on with shoehorns is far easier. And, also not insignificantly, more gentle on stockings. You must not expose the natural material to dry heat or hefty moisture. Clean it with a little soapy water, then dry it. Now and then a horn oil, or petroleum jelly or a little cooking oil. The main thing is that the horn does not dry out. Its dimensions may vary by up to 5 mm.
If no slide, as a shoehorn may also be called, at hand or foot, you could try it with a credit card, as well as a handkerchief folded several times. Otherwise, barefoot walking remains, which is supposed to be very healthy.
