For beginners, we recommend straight razors with a blade width of 4/8 or 5/8 inches, supplemented by a high-grade HEROLD leather strop for honing the blade before every shave. Use the yellow paste for the leather side and the white paste for the linen side – for flawless shaving results. Please note: A straight razor should rest for at least 24, preferably 48 hours after use, which is why experienced straight razor connoisseurs prefer using multiple blades in rotation.
