Damascus steel is made from different types of steel. A complex process in which several metal blocks are fused together to combine hardness with pliability and sharpness with flexibility. Only a final etching makes the respective pattern visible. In this model of the COLLECTION series, formerly listed as LUXE, non-stainless carbon damascus is offered in a handle version PLEIN MANCHE. Full handle, then, which shows off its elegant make to best advantage without visual foreshortening by metal bolsters. This is made of dark horn spotted, which is called "leopard". In the predatory cat with this name, the rosettes in the fur are black with a bright center. The tip of horn is filled, thus more robust, although more expensive, because less present compared to the hollow tube of the rest. A shepherd's cross inlaid in the handle of the folding knife protects against evil. Weight-wise, such a pocket knife becomes lighter, the end pieces must be precisely worked out, but should not be dropped on a hard surface.
Another delicacy in this specimen is the DOUBLE PLATINES made of stainless steel, worked by hand with a file and awl, with two brass strips on the back of the handle. A folding knife requires a metal plate, namely the sinker, to hold the handle scales in place. It is considered a French specialty to chisel guillochage all the way to the back of the blade in the finest goldsmith's manner, in order to demonstrate the dexterity of the respective master. Because only such a master is allowed to produce models of the COLLECTION from the beginning to the end.
