A classic hunchback knife, made in Solingen by the manufacturer ENGELS.
Made in a cutlery factory that was founded in 1874. So they have over 140 years of experience there in forging cutting tools. With this knife, they have an alternative to the hunchback knives that Robert Herder Windmühlenmesser, for example, also produces. A Buckel(s)messer is an ancient German breakfast knife, born out of rural tradition. It is the round blade shape that is reminiscent of a belly. And this is called a "buck" in Low German.
A beautiful beechwood handle combined with a sharp, stainless steel blade with a fine Solingen grind and hand trigger. Both require care by hand and do not allow a dishwasher, but wood oil may be used from time to time for care. Please have a look at the section "Care Products Protection".
Whether for breakfast or dinner, cut cheese, salami wafer-thin and spread butter with it, you will also enjoy this traditional model for a long time as a table knife.
"A man without a belly is like a sky without stars". Must be a metaphor. Or a euphemism?
