The SCOUT model has been successful on the market since 1985. Despite minor changes, the basic principle remains the same: a body is sintered and polished from a piece of nickel silver. The raw materials are mixed together by heating and shaped into the desired form. The backlock system with spring and bolt rocker inside ensures locking and retention. Part of this can be seen on the rear knob, which is fitted with a safety lug.
Nickel silver was invented by the Chinese in the 17th century. Shiny like the precious metal, but at the same time low-maintenance, Germany practiced for several more decades until argentane could be alloyed from copper, nickel and zinc. Because the SCOUT is a classic pocket knife as a scout, it is scaled with stag horn. The beading is even and ground towards the bolsters so that the antler substance appears almost white. Natural materials vary in their appearance. Color and beading are different.
