The polished models at FORGE DE LAGUIOLE are in the minority, their production requires more time. And there is no question that the combination of shiny metal and white bone is reminiscent of the Bauhaus era. Whereas such a beef, camel or reindeer bone can appear not only white but also beige or grey after cooking. A metal plate connects the two handle shells. In a double-width version, it results in a mighty handle, in whose metal ornamentation the master knifemaker demonstrates his craftsmanship. An awl and a file are used in the goldsmith's manner for the fine scrollwork to produce meticulous chasing.
The T12 blade steel is made exclusively by Bonpertius. But the blades are cut, the components such as mouche, ressort, mitres, i.e. the bolsters, the rivets, the production of the handle scales, all these steps are carried out by hand in FORGE DE LAGUIOLE's own workshop.
