Wooden handle BRUYÈRE root wood of the tree heath, which is dug out after thirty to sixty years of growth. For use comes the tuber, large as a pumpkin, which is first cooked and then dried again elaborately. Digging for the burl is done from the end of November. In the south of Italy, in Greece and in Algeria. The most beautiful pipe bowls are carved from briar. This is because the condensates formed during smoking are well absorbed by the pores in the wood. This is light to reddish brown, often beautifully grained and, due to mineral deposits, very hard, heat-resistant and therefore does not impair the aroma of pipe tobacco smoke. The shepherd's cross is inlaid from metal pins. 
A DOUBLE PLATINE on the handle's back allows the knifemaker to demonstrate his acquired knowledge with file and awl.  
The LUXE series, now offered under the name COLLECTION, is handcrafted by the best knifemakers in the forge. The typical bee or "mouche" called, as well as the "Ressort", that is the spring are forged from one piece of steel.  
The latter is chiseled and guilloched by hand all the way down the spine and into the blade, just like the bee. No two pocket knives are alike, each one is unique.
