The German company DOVO with its subsidiary MERKUR in Solingen is Europe's most important manufacturer of classic razors, the so-called razor planes, as well as straight razors. In 2006, DOVO celebrated its 100th anniversary in Solingen. The company, with its second brand MERKUR, belongs to the Solingen companies with the best reputation.
